This Rwanda safari will take you to Volcanoes National Park after a tour of the Rwanda Art Museum in Kigali. You will have a gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park, a hike to Dian Fossey Tomb, a hike to Mount Bisoke, golden monkey trekking and a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village. You will visit Kimironko market before you head to Kigali Airport.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali Airport to Volcanoes National Park
You will be transferred from Kigali Airport by a professional Chopper Tour and Travel company representative. You will head to the Rwanda Art Museum, and you will have views of the art pieces designed by artists at this place. You will learn about the history, culture and traditions of Rwanda through the art pieces, and then you will head to a hotel for lunch.
After having lunch at the hotel, you will embark on the journey to Volcanoes National Park. This journey will take approximately 2 hours, and upon arrival, you will check into a lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
You will have breakfast, and after breakfast, you will be briefed at the park headquarters. You will get the guidelines to follow while gorilla trekking. You will set off to go for gorilla trekking with an armed ranger guide, and you will take about 30 minutes to 7 hours to search for the Rwanda gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend 1 hour with them as you watch them feed, play and do much more. You will head back to the lodge after the amazing primate viewing experience.
You will have lunch and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing, and you get hiking gear to set off for the hike to Dian Fossey’s tomb. You will come across many attractions as you hike to Dian Fossey’s Tomb. You will spot birds, primates and many more. Once you arrive, you will have a glance at the Tomb of Dian Fossey and other graves of primates. You will then head back to the lodge after getting details about the hike and the history and achievements of Dian Fossey. You will have dinner at the lodge, and you will retire to bed.

Day 3: Hike to Mount Bisoke
You will have breakfast early in the morning, and you will leave the lodge and go for a hike to Mount Bisoke. You will get your hiking gear, and after the briefing, you start the hike to Mount Bisoke. The hike to the summit of Mount Bisoke takes approximately 4 hours. You will have views of a number of attractions, and then you will head back to the starting point. Descending takes about 2 hours, and while at the summit, you will have views of the craters and the neighbouring volcanic mountains. After the hike, you will head back to the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, you will spend the rest of the day at the lodge, and in the evening, you will have dinner, and you will retire to bed.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
You will have breakfast and then leave the lodge. The guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will go for a golden monkey trekking experience. You will be accompanied by an armed ranger guide. You will take about 2 to 4 hours searching for the golden monkeys. You will spend 1 hour with them after spotting them. You will have time to monitor their behaviour and to also take pictures of them. You will head back to the lodge after the experience. You will have lunch at the lodge.
The guide will pick you up from the lodge after lunch, and you will go for an afternoon visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village. You will have a cultural experience of the Rwandese culture while at Iby’iwacu Cultural Village. You will interact with the locals there and also engage in activities like the preparation of their local dishes. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Depart for Kigali Airport
You will have breakfast early in the morning, and you will leave the lodge after checking out. You will head back to Kigali with a short visit to Kimironko Market. You will buy some souvenirs from this market and get to see the various items sold there. You will then leave the market after interacting with the locals you will meet there. The guide will take you to a hotel for lunch and then drive you to Kigali Airport for your flight.
