Day 1: Fly from Diani, Mombasa, to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast at your hotel in Mombasa, you will be picked up by our representative and transferred to Mombasa International Airport for a direct flight to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Often the flight departs at 7:30 am, arriving in Maasai Mara at 10.15 am.
On landing at one of the airstrips serving Maasai Mara National Reserve, you will be met by your driver-guide, who will give you a warm introduction to your safari and what to expect, and then driven to the lodge with a short game drive, giving you the first glimpse of the famous Maasai Mara. Check in at your lodge and enjoy a hot lunch, and have some time to rest.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve offers a classic safari filled with the Big Five and wildlife-dotted landscapes; this reserve forms part of the Great Mara–Serengeti savannah ecosystem, offering some of the best game viewing on the planet. During your game safari, you will be treated to hunter-prey action and watch antelopes being chased by predators. Late in the afternoon, return to the golden savannah plains of Maasai Mara National Reserve for another game drive running till sunset. Return to your lodge for an evening of relaxation around the campfire together with other visitors, chatting about the day’s adventure, enjoying dinner and staying overnight.

Day 2: Full Day in Maasai Mara National Reserve
Today is dedicated to exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve, visiting several regions of the area and searching for the Big Five and other wildlife species. You will participate in morning and afternoon game drives with a picnic lunch, set at one of the picnic sites along the Mara River, one of the remarkable features in the reserve.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is an incredible wildlife safari destination offering one of the most spectacular wildlife encounters year-round. The reserve is renowned for being a sanctuary to large resident populations of lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, the endangered rhinos, cheetahs, and several bird species, which you will watch during the game drives.
You will enjoy your meals as you watch various animals, including zebras and gazelles, graze around your picnic site. Continue with your game drives till sunset. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Alternatively, today you can have an optional hot air balloon safari, offering another perspective of exploring the Maasai Mara National Reserve. On this Kenya safari experience, you will wake up early for a cup of coffee and head to the landing site, where you will watch a safety briefing as you watch the balloons being inflated. Board the baskets and soar in the sky at sunrise; as you glide above the sky, you will enjoy aerial views of various wild animals and the landscape. The hot air balloon flight is concluded with a champagne brunch breakfast served under an acacia tree.
In the late afternoon, you can also head to the Maasai Village situated along the borders of the reserve to meet the Maasai people and learn about their culture.
