This is a 6 days fly-in gorilla habituation and Chimpanzee trekking safari from Entebbe Airport to Kasese Airstrip for a transfer to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking and a Bigodi swamp walk on a Uganda safari. You will also visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and a game drive in the Mweya peninsula. You will fly from Kasese Airstrip to Kihihi Airstrip for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a gorilla habituation experience with one of the habituated gorilla families that you will spend 4 hours with.

Detailed Itinerary Of The 6 Days Fly In Gorilla Habituation And Chimpanzee Trekking Safari
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport and fly to Kibale National Park
On day 1, upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will have your flight to Kasese Airstrip, where you will meet with our company guide. The Guide will brief you about the 6 days fly-in gorilla habituation and Chimpanzee trekking safari, and then drive you to Kibale National Park. You will check into a lodge at Kibale National Park and have lunch. You will relax at the lodge till dinner time, and after dinner, you will retire to bed.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and visit to Bigodi wetland sanctuary
On day 2, you will have breakfast and then head to the Kanyachu visitors centre for a briefing. After the briefing, you will set off for a chimpanzee trek to Kibale forest. You will trek for about 2 to 4 hours. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat and then take photos of the chimpanzees. You will return to the lodge for lunch.
Late in the afternoon, the guide will drive you to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a Bigodi swamp walk. The swamp walk will take about 3 hours with views of primates like black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, among others. There will also be several encounters with mammals like bushbucks, sitatungas and different bird species. The guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat cruise
On day 3, you will enjoy your breakfast at the lodge and then check out. You will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will check into a lodge and have lunch.
At 2 pm, you will have a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise on the Kazinga channel takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. You will be guided by a guide as you spot the crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants, bird species, vegetation and many more. You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive and fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On day 4, very early in the morning at the lodge, you will be served breakfast and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then go for a morning game drive in the Mweya peninsula. The game drive will be supervised by an armed ranger guide, and it will last for about 4 hours. You will spot various animal species and bird species while on the game drive. You are most likely to see the sunrise in the morning as you drive in the Mweya peninsula. You will get to the lodge for lunch, and you check out.
The guide will drive you to Kasese Airstrip. You will have a flight to Kihihi airstrip. You arrive at Kihihi airstrip, the guide will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will check into a lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 5: Gorilla habituation
On day 5, after an early morning breakfast, you will receive your packed lunch at the lodge and then head to the park headquarters for a briefing. The park guides will brief you about gorilla habituation, and you will be allocated to a gorilla family to meet. You will be given an armed ranger guide to escort you. You will search for the gorillas for about 30 minutes to 7 hours as you have encounters with other wildlife species.
Unlike chimpanzee trekking, which rewards you with one hour with the gorillas after spotting them, you will spend more time with the gorillas during gorilla habituation. You will spend about 4 hours with the gorillas in their natural habitat as you observe their behaviour, as well as them getting used to the human presence. You will get back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 6: Fly to Entebbe Airport
On day 6, after having breakfast, the guide will transfer you to Kihihi airstrip, where you will board your flight to Entebbe Airport. Arriving at Entebbe Airport will mark the end of the safari.
